Dogs love playing fetch. It involves chasing, catching, and running, which is an excellent form of exercise. Plus, it’s a great bonding activity for fur parents and dogs. However, during one of these fetch sessions, an unexpected accident transpired. Dog Rescued By Two Angels
Bliss Nuckols was enjoying a fun game of fetch with a three-year-old German Shepherd named Jett when he noticed the ball suddenly disappeared. To his alarm, he found Jett choking on the ball! He tried to get the ball out of Jett’s throat but couldn’t. So, as a last resort, he decided to call Jett’s fur mom, Teresa Perkins.
Perkins swiftly got into her car after hearing about what happened to her poor dog. She informed her vet that she would rush Jett to the clinic. When Perkins arrived, she and Nuckols brought Jett immediately into the car, and they drove off to the vet, praying that they would make it on time. Perkins drove as fast as she could, for the life of Jett was now depending on her.
As if this emergency wasn’t stressful enough, they encountered construction along the road as they got near the veterinary clinic. Trapped in heavy traffic with Jett running out of breath, Perkins knew she had to think of another solution to save her dog. So she stopped the car and tried to get help outside as they had no other way around it.
Nervous and weary, Perkins found two men working at a construction site and asked for their help. The men had a hard time understanding Perkins because she was in such a panic, but as soon as they saw Jett, they knew they had to help.
The construction workers, Jay Johnson and Cavaja Holt, examined the weak dog. Finally, Holt opened Jett’s mouth and successfully took the ball out. But poor Jett still wasn’t breathing.
Johnson suggested that they do CPR, so Holt acted in an instant. They did CPR on Jett and never gave up until the dog regained consciousness and began breathing again. Filled with so much gratitude, Perkins repeatedly thanked their two angels.
Perkins headed to the vet immediately to ensure her dog was out of harm’s way. Their vet assured them that Jett was safe to go back home, and if not for their rescuers, Jett would not have made it alive.
Perkins and Nuckols couldn’t forget how thankful they had found Johnson and Holt and wanted to thank them again. So, Nuckols decided to reach out through social media. He posted on Facebook to see these two construction workers in the right place at the right time.
To their surprise, Holt was also searching for them on Facebook, wanting to know how Jett was. So they could all meet again in person on an emergency-free day.
Perkins recalled,” He would’ve died if I didn’t stop. He would have been dead. He wouldn’t have made it if I had driven ten more minutes.” But she made the right decision at that moment, for it led them to their two rescuers, Johnson and Holt.
Everyone had quite a scare that day. But with Perkins following her gut instincts and finding their unexpected angels, Jett acquired his second life and gained two new friends they will forever be grateful for.
