Kong is a four-year-old Border Collie captured and brought to a local shelter in Claremore, Oklahoma. Unfortunately, the dog developed a severe skin condition when living on the streets without proper shelter and nutrition. Aside from a complex combination of several painful skin diseases, he was highly sunburned. Shelter Dog Is So Grateful
The poor pup only had patches of fur, and all his exposed skin was painful when touched. He needed medical care, but the local shelter could not provide that.

Treatment
Thankfully, Border Collie Rescue and Rehab came to his aid. The rescue organization is composed of a network of volunteer foster homes and is based in Prosper, Texas. They took the dog from the shelter and put him in the house of one of their volunteers. At the same time, they took him to a vet, where he underwent treatment.
Kong was a fighter and exceptionally resilient. He responded well to the medication, and his progress was fast. His health improved dramatically, and all left was to find him a permanent home.
Grateful
Curtis Hartsell was browsing the rescue organization’s website when he chanced upon Kong’s profile. According to him, he immediately fell in love with the dog. He got in touch with Kong’s foster mom, and after a short conversation, they determined that they were perfect for each other. So he submitted his application.
The first time they met was a touching moment that perfectly symbolized their relationship. Curtis knelt to meet the dog when he was handed Kong’s leash. In return, the pooch hugged him and rested his head on his body.
Renamed ZIB, the pup who couldn’t be touched before now can’t get enough snuggling. He is so grateful to have a new dad and will always be by his side.
