When two sisters decided to take in an injured stray dog, they had no clue they were in for a surprise. The injured pup, who everyone thought would barely survive, is now expected to birth nine healthy puppies.
Injured Dog
Meghan Wedge was working in her office in Dalton, GA, when she heard her colleagues talking about an injured dog they had seen in the parking lot. Meghan went to the parking area to look for herself and was appalled to see the condition of the severely injured canine. The dog would fall as soon as she tried to get up. She could not put her weight on her back legs.
Meghan wanted to help the pooch but did not want to call the pound. So instead, she tried to connect with people who could adopt the dog. Eventually, she called her sister, Sarah Bauer, when the life of the stray canine changed.
Adopted.
Sarah told Meghan that she would take the dog and care for her. Then, she arranged a meeting with Meghan, where Meghan handed over the canine to her.
Sarah named the dog Izzy and got her an appointment with the vet for a thorough check-up. The vet informed Sarah that Izzy’s condition was pretty bad. She had a dislocated hip, along with other injuries. The dog was hit by a car and had buckshot wounds as well. There was one more thing — Izzy was pregnant.
Izzy’s pregnant.
The vet asked Sarah if she wanted to guess how many puppies Izzy would have, and Sarah responded by saying three or maybe four. The vet informed Sarah that the pooch was pregnant with nine puppies.
Sarah has now created a GoFundMe page to pay for Izzy’s veterinary bills, where people contribute their bit.
