We live in a cruel world– with various accounts of animal abuse. Sometimes, we consider why people commit horrendous crimes against pure-hearted living creatures. There are a lot of animals out there who know nothing about love. All they know of life is full of pain.
The good thing is that kindness still exists in this world. For abused dogs, angels will always work to save them. There are also volunteers sacrificing their time and resources to ensure these neglected animals get another shot in life.
One of the dogs who never felt love and affection is Phoenix. For as long as he’s been alive, he only knew pain and abuse from his previous owner. His owner chained him outside their home and neglected him all his life.
People Report Abuse.
Concerned people in the community reported the abuse to authorities. The police quickly responded and went to seize the abused dog. However, they found the situation difficult due to Phoenix’s aggressiveness. Volunteers of a local rescue group, Takis Rescue Shelter, heard about the report and aided the police.
Phoenix resisted and snarled at Takis, the head of Takis Shelter. The traumatized dog fought off any physical contact with him, refusing to leave his crate when they transported him back to the shelter. Instead, he kept lunging at Taki’s gloved hand, refusing to give in. Takis understood how traumatized Phoenix was – so he gave him some time. A few hours later, the tired Phoenix finally allowed Takis to pet him.
Aggressive Dog Who Finally Gave In
Takis’ heart soared as Phoenix gave all his trust in him. After a few minutes, the dog offered his paw lovingly and leaned his head into the man’s hand. Takis and his team are proud that Phoenix’s attitude changed significantly in the shelter. The dog bonds well with other dogs, even other cats! It is great to see the changes that love and compassion can make.
