The Big Fluffy Dog Rescue’s owners in La Vergne, Tennessee, have been contemplating moving to another location. However, due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, their plans for moving got canceled. As they seek to change locations, the shelter paused some of its events and fundraisers. Wanted to Move the Shelter
However, a recent terrifying event forced them to ask for donations once again. Problems with crimes are one reason why the shelter caretakers want to move to a different place. Never did it cross the owners’ minds that a particular crime would happen to one of their volunteers.
Crimes in the Neighborhood
A kidnapping attempt against a young female employee happened at the animal shelter. Based on the accounts, the female employee was walking one of the shelter’s dogs, Jepson, the Great Pyrenees. During their walk, the female volunteer bent down on her knees to pet the pooch. Suddenly, Jepson barked when he saw a group of men. The group of men then approached the female volunteer and tried to grab her inside a white van.

Fortunately, Jepson was quick on his feet to rescue the female volunteer. The dog’s anger was enough to drive the bad men away. The female volunteer was caught off guard by what happened to her. It took a while before she could process what happened. The pooch was there to comfort her.
When she knew she was safe, the female volunteer rushed back to the animal shelter and shared what happened to her. It was a harrowing experience for the female volunteer, and she could not thank Jepson enough for the dog’s feistiness.
The animal shelter asked their benefactors for additional funding to move to a better place with what happened. According to the shelter’s heads, they would need at least $60,000 to push through with the plan.
