Animal Aid Unlimited is a rescue organization in India that helps injured animals from the streets. The organization also educates people on the importance of rescuing and adopting dogs. One day, Animal Aid Unlimited received a call about a dog that collapsed in the street. Hearing that the dog was not moving, the rescue organization quickly sent some rescuers.
When the rescue team arrived at the scene, they were shocked at how skinny the dog was. At first, they thought that the dog was in a car accident or something similar. But despite the dog’s weakness, it managed to wag its tail as his rescuers came and got him. They wrapped him in a blanket and rushed him to their animal aid sanctuary.
Sparkles
The dog, later named Sparkles, was given immediate medical care. They saw that the dog had no fractures or injuries, so their initial theory was dismissed. However, with a further diagnosis, they discovered that Sparkles had distemper.
Distemper is a disease caused by a virus, and it is incurable. It could also be fatal. Because of his condition, Sparkle had diarrhea and severe loss of appetite. He wasn’t eating, so he became frail.
The vets quickly gave the dog medication, including antibiotics. Unfortunately, they may not be able to cure the disease. He was put on an IV and provided food to prevent further infections and symptoms.
Sparkles could not stand and support himself, so his caretakers started therapy. First, they massaged his legs and tried to get him to stand with support. With proper nutrition and boundless love, Sparkles showed progressive improvements as the days passed.
Twenty days after he was brought in, Sparkles could now stand by himself. He could walk, but he was still wobbly. But they can see that he was fighting to get better. He was also getting strength from the other dogs around him. So sparkles wanted to play with them.
Now, Sparkles is in the best condition that he has ever been. He is running and playing with the other dogs. In time, a family will adopt him, and he will get all the love and care that he can get. See his journey of recovery in the video below. Just click the link.
